Stop 1: Hegra (1 hour)
  • Your first stop is Hegra, also known as Madain Saleh or Al-Hijr, an archaeological site near AlUla. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the Nabataean kingdom's southernmost and largest settlement after Petra, their capital.
  • Explore the well-preserved monumental tombs with decorated facades dating back from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD. The site also features pre-Nabataean inscriptions and cave drawings.
3
Stop 2: Jabal AlFil (Elephant Rock) (2 hours)
  • Next, we'll journey to the spectacular Jabal AlFil, also known as Elephant Rock. This iconic sandstone rock formation resembles an elephant with its trunk touching the ground and is a must-see geological wonder of AlUla.
4
Stop 3: Dadan & Jabal Ikmah (2 hours)
  • Continue your exploration at Dadan & Jabal Ikmah. Jabal Ikmah is an open-air library boasting thousands of inscriptions in various ancient languages, including Aramaic, Dadanitic, Thamudic, Minaic, and Nabataean. Here, you'll find some of the oldest inscriptions in the Islamic era, dating back to 24AH (644 CE).
  • Dadan was once a crucial caravan stop, and evidence of its rich history can be found on Jabal Ikmah's cliff faces and rocks, where travelers left their inscriptions and offerings.
5
Stop 4: Lion Tombs of Dadan (1 hour)
  • Immerse yourself in the history of the Dadan kingdom at the Lion Tombs. These fascinating tombs are named for the lion statues that adorn their facades.
6
Stop 5: AlUla (1 hour)
  • After a full day of exploration, relax and enjoy the scenic journey back to your hotel in AlUla.
